New Senior Line Up at The Mere
New senior line up is announced at The Mere Golf Resort and Spa ready for the re-launch
Three new senior appointments have been made at The Mere Golf Resort and Spa in Knutsford in preparation for the forthcoming re-launch and opening of its 81 bedroomed hotel including ten guest suites. The appointments include a Director of Sales, a Human Resources Manager and a Rooms Division Manager in its drive to deliver an exceptional customer experience to guests and visitors to the North West.
Jane Hubbard takes on the role of HR Manager whose remit is to build a bespoke HR function for the resort focusing on the best in staff performance management and training. Hubbard joins The Mere from Handpicked Hotels where she ran HR operations across the North West region.
Gill Twist has been appointed as Director of Sales hired from Mint Hotel, a privately owned hotel group, where she previously worked in a regional role as Group Meeting and Event Sales Manager. Twist’s role is to lead the sales team driving a focused strategic sales drive promoting the resorts new full offering across all national market sectors.
Finally, Jessica Bennett has been appointed as Rooms Division Manager. Bennett, formerly Deputy General Manager at Malmaison Manchester, will be responsible for managing the three critical functions of concierge; housekeeping and reception, ensuring guests receive the best in service and hospitality.
The three positions will report into Graeme Nesbitt, Resort General Manager and will significantly bolster the senior team in the run up to the re-launch.
“The resort re-launch is designed to deliver a premier experience for visitors. These are important strategic hires for us at a critical point in The Mere’s development and we are thrilled to have found three excellent candidates with very strong credentials in each of their respective fields,” commented Graeme Nesbitt, Resort General Manager.

The Mere Golf Resort & Spa was purchased by the Boler family in 1984 and is an independently owned luxury resort. From March 2012 the resort will offer an 81 bedroom hotel and two new restaurants including ‘Browns at The Mere’ and the ‘Club Lounge and Bar’ alongside its existing championship golf course, conference and event facilities for up to 550 people and a state-of the-art health club and spa. Situated in the heart of Cheshire, the resort is close to Manchester, Liverpool and Chester.
