Celebs Tee Off at The Mere for Key 103 Celebrity Charity Golf Day in Aid of Cash for Kids
On Friday 12th August, The Mere Golf Resort and Spa in Cheshire played host to Key 103’s Celebrity Charity Golf Day in aid of Cash for Kids, the nationwide charity which delivers initiatives to aid underprivileged children in local communities. All cash raised has gone direct into the Greater Manchester community.
The event was hosted by Key 103’s Darren Proctor and Coronation Street’s Andy Whyment with attendees including Alan Halsall, Manchester United legend Willie Morgan and The Mere’s CEO Mark Boler, and Chairman Gary Corbett.
Over 100 Golfers arrived and teed off in the stunning surroundings of one of the North West’s best golf courses, with plenty of challenging holes and water hazards. Each team had a great day on the course with the sun shining and many respectable scores being posted. The haven of serenity which is the 11th Green Bar proved far too tempting for most as refreshments were sought to quench thirst, which only added to the humor and entertainment out on the course.
The day finished with a fantastic barbeque laid on by The Mere, a Charity Auction, and entertainment provided by the girls from Suburbia. Joe Gates, Golf Operations Manager commented, “It was another great charity event hosted at The Mere Golf Resort and Spa, we are always pleased to help raise money for local charities like Cash for Kids in whatever way we can.â€
